I’m Olivia, and I’m in it for the variety. I’m happiest working on everything from social media to feature articles in fast-paced environments. I’m a writer, Type-A grammar nerd, fluent Spanish-speaker and new media journalist with a passion for graphic design. I’m becoming an Adobe Certified Expert in InDesign, and I also have experience designing websites with HTML and CSS. (I made this portfolio site myself.)
In September 2013, I jetted off to Madrid, Spain to teach English for ten months. I returned to the U.S. in July 2014, but you can still can read about my vida madrileña on my blog, Travels Untranslated.
In May 2013, I graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors from Drake University, where I earned a double major in magazines and English. My recent experience includes working as a digital writer for bhg.com, the website for Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I worked with the digital team to write on-brand slideshows and assist with social media, SEO analysis and web content development and management. I’ve also worked in internal communications and marketing, non-profit communications and website management.
